Appearance
Built like a hearth and just as solid, Marteph wears his years in the lines of his hands and the gray braided into his beard. A worn leather apron hangs over rolled sleeves, carrying the smells of malt, oak, and roasted herbs. His posture is open and confident, and his bright eyes miss very little from behind the bar.
Personality
Marteph is jovial without being careless and welcoming without being foolish. He treats strangers like friends until given reason not to, and he watches over his staff and patrons with quiet vigilance. Beneath the laughter is a firm sense of responsibility for the space he keeps.
Background
For decades, Marteph hauled trade goods along the roads of southern Ansalon, learning brewing and hospitality from dwarven caravans, roadside taverns, and fellow travelers. Life on the road taught him how valuable a safe place can be after dangerous miles.
When his sister Teti Stoneharrow settled in Eastguard, Marteph followed and built The Snoring Warrior Tavern with his own hands. What began as a tavern became a home for travelers, locals, and anyone in need of a steady seat and a strong drink.
