The Snoring Warrior Tavern
The Snoring Warrior Tavern sits just outside Eastguard’s southern gates, on the west side of the road beneath a sprawling old oak. A modest timber-frame building, it greets travelers with flower boxes under shuttered windows, a rustic sign of a snoring warrior propped against a barrel, and warm lantern light spilling from its windows at dusk. The smells of roasting meat, fresh stone-baked bread, and herb butter drift out onto a wide porch lined with outdoor seating.
This is often the first welcome travelers receive when arriving in Eastguard and the last place locals stop to drink before leaving town.
Inside, the taproom is a relaxing, fragrant space filled with a floral-custard aroma, pungent banana notes, and hints of calming oil that seem almost soothing. A spotless polished L-shaped bar anchors the room, surrounded by carved tables and a large hearth bearing a mural of the tavern’s drowsy namesake. There is space for performers and a private dining area for quieter conversations.
The clientele ranges from road-weary caravans and gossip-loving locals to mercenaries, gamblers, and would-be heroes looking for a soft bed and a stiff drink.
Above the taproom, a second floor holds private quarters, a hostel-style common room with five double bunks, and a private rental room with two full-sized beds. Between the comfortable lodgings, steady entertainment, and hearty menu, the Snoring Warrior has a reputation for comfort, good food, friendly staff, and always seeming to have a table free even when the place is full.
