Warlock Retreat
The former residence and workshop of Arden Voss, a warlock whose research drew more attention than he anticipated. Voss is deceased. His daughter, Katerina Voss, is a captain in The Blue Dragon Army.
The retreat sits off the road along the New Coast, a stone structure built for isolation rather than comfort. From the outside it looks modest — the kind of building a solitary scholar might use. Inside, it was something else entirely.
The party was sent here by Brittany Marginsong to recover Arden Voss’s journal, which she believed might contain information relevant to protecting Eastguard.
What the Party Found
The retreat had already been visited by mercenaries before the party arrived — members of the Black Briar Company who had beaten them there and were searching the property.
The party fought through the mercenaries and located the journal. The building also contained an arcane puzzle device — a cube that responded to the correct sequence of inputs. After some experimentation, the device was solved without incident.
The dead mercenaries were left behind. The party departed with the journal and returned to Eastguard.
