The Town That Forgot
Quest giver: Brittany Marginsong — Status: Complete
Summary
The morning after the party dealt with the Black Briar Company situation in Eastguard, something felt off. The town seemed calm — too calm. Guards who had watched Varric Morn demonstrate his power in the square the day before seemed to have no memory of it. Locals mentioned sleeping poorly and having strange dreams they couldn’t recall.
Brittany Marginsong appeared tired and distracted. She accepted Arden Voss’s journal, asked if the road had been quiet, and then redirected the conversation. She asked the party to travel south — a fishing village called Saltmere had been attacked and she needed someone to help.
She didn’t explain why she knew about it, or why it was her concern.
What Happened
The party traveled twelve miles south along the coast road to Saltmere, where they found the Black Briar Company in control of the village.
Burned boats. Broken doors. Cut nets. Villagers forced to provide supplies and labor.
Some of the mercenaries seemed confused about how they ended up there. Old Tarlan reported overhearing them argue — one insisting they were supposed to be somewhere else. Somewhere with bigger walls and more coin.
The party cleared the Black Briar Company from Saltmere, freed the village, and returned to Eastguard.
Brittany asked only one question when they returned.
“Is the town alright?”
