Art’s Art and Gems

A Treasures of Art

Nestled along one of Eastguard’s quieter side streets, this modest art and jewelry shop spills color and warm glints of metal onto the cobblestones. Sunlight filters through tall, narrow windows, catching on framed paintings, charcoal sketches, and jewelry cases lined along the walls. The front door chimes softly when it opens, with tiny painted wooden charms that knock together in a gentle clatter.

Inside, the space smells faintly of oil paint, metal polish, ink, and fresh parchment. Shelves hold jars of brushes, pigments, polishing cloths, jeweler’s tools, and strange little reference trinkets. The place feels lived in and closely watched, as if every object has been handled, weighed, and judged before being given a place on display.

The shop belongs to Arthur Simon Napier, though almost nobody calls him that. Around Eastguard, he is simply Art. He has a sharp eye for beauty, value, and anything unusual enough to deserve a second look. When he turns an item over in his hands and gives that small, thoughtful shrug, locals already know what is coming.

“I don’t know if it’s art, but I like it.”

Rumours

  • Art can tell what a stone is worth just by turning it in the light.’
  • ‘Some of the paintings in the back room were not painted here, but no one seems to know where they came from.’
  • ‘If you have something valuable and don’t want too many questions, Art might still make you an offer.’
