Barrish Stormwrap
Barrish Stormwrap is a pirate captain operating along the coast of the New Sea. He commands a slightly larger coastal vessel with patchwork sails stitched together from mismatched cloth, a crew of roughly fifteen, and a pair of mounted cannons. His ship flies a blue-and-gold flag bearing a kraken clutching a lightning bolt.
He is not the kind of pirate who announces himself. He is the kind who waits to see who you are before deciding what to do next.
Appearance
Stormwrap carries himself with the unhurried authority of someone who has navigated worse situations than this one. His clothes are practical and sea-worn. He keeps a cook aboard — an unusual luxury on a vessel his size — and the ale he serves is strong enough that people remark on it.
Personality
Cautious but not unfriendly. He sends someone else aboard first. He watches before he speaks. He ate shark steaks with a group of strangers who returned his torn flag and wished them fair winds when they parted. He is the kind of man who keeps agreements and expects others to do the same.
Background
Stormwrap operates along a regular circuit of coastal ports, Elsher’s Height among them. His ship was tied to wreckage the party recovered weeks before they met him in person — a blue-and-gold flag pulled from a debris field on the open sea. He had no visible reaction when it was returned. Whether the wreck was his own or something he would rather not discuss is not clear.
He offered the party practical intelligence freely: the mounted sea riders along this stretch of coast generally leave ships alone unless provoked, and there is a massive thirty-foot shark near the ruins of Itzan Klertal that is not interested in leaving anything alone.

Ideals
Fair dealing. A meal shared is a debt cleared.
Bonds
His ship and his crew. A crew member with visible affection for him. A regular circuit of ports that he has clearly maintained for years.
Flaws
He trusts cautiously and does not extend that trust far without reason. He also travels with passengers he does not explain.
Rumors
- His ship has been seen at ports where cargo went missing shortly after. He has never been directly accused of anything.
- A crewman named Gorvache Tidebreaker does his boarding inspections and does not speak much while doing them.
- He carries a kender named Pip in his crew. Make of that what you will.
- The wreckage field where his flag was found has not been formally identified. Nobody knows which ship it was.
