Walden’s Wands
Walden’s Wands is a magic shop on the south side of Scholar’s Row, directly across from Bindings and Whispers. To the west sits The Mad Sphinx. To the east is a storefront that never quite seems to open, which only makes Walden’s place feel stranger by comparison.
The windows glow softly at dusk, and the air around the entrance smells of polished wood, old parchment, and charged crystal. The shop looks exactly like what it is, a place where arcane wonder has been sorted, cataloged, priced, and set behind glass. Nothing about it feels chaotic. Even the oddities seem arranged with intention.
Inside, the room is orderly and calm. Wands rest in glass cases, grouped by wood, temperament, and purpose. Other magical items sit in locked cabinets with handwritten tags that describe their effects in clean, practical language. Subtle wards hum underfoot, not loudly enough to alarm a customer, but enough to remind anyone paying attention that careless spellwork and theft are both bad ideas in here.
Behind the building lies a quiet pond with a stone bench, known locally as Walden’s Water. The place is oddly peaceful. It feels tucked just outside the noise of town, as if the air settles differently there.
